Recent Activities
Trainings:
Child Rescue hosted a very successful 1st Annual Law Enforcement Training Wednesday June 1st 2011 at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City Utah. 280+ officers, attorneys and social service representatives from across the United States and Canada, were in attendance. The training was provided by Apogee Consulting and the Utah Human Trafficking Task Force. Child Rescue also hosted an appreciation lunch banquet where former trafficking victim Natasha Herzig shared her story and offered advice and insight to the officers in attendance.
Child Rescue representative Danielle Palmer conducted a 1.5 hour CLE training for the Minnesota Association of Women Police to train them on the prevalence of trafficking, how to recognize it, and the proper resources when dealing with trafficking victims.
Child Rescue paid for Formalized Human Trafficking training in Florida for LAPD officers in June 2010
Child Rescue has provided multiple “Level 1” trainings to the Sandy City Police Station in the months of September and October 2010

Presentations:
Child Rescue representatives Jacque Baumer, Tyler Brklacich, and Celest Lojik presented at the 2nd international Women’s of the Mountains Conference held March 9-10 2011.
Child Rescue Representatives Celeste Lojik and Tyler Brklacich participated as panelists for the Weber State “Not for Sale” Campaign on April 1st 2011
Child Rescue representative Tyler Brklacich presented and Utah’s Model UN Nation’s Conference bringing awareness and education to hundreds of Junior High and High School Students across the state of Utah.
Child Rescue representative Danielle Palmer presented to the MN Chiefs of Police at their annual MN Chiefs of Police Association meeting held April 4-5.
Child Rescue representative Danielle Palmer presented to the Minnesota Association of Women Police at their annual meeting on May 5, 2011.
Child Rescue representative Danielle Palmer presented to various Rotary clubs throughout MN including Buffalo, Sauk Center, and the Minneapolis Rotaract club.
Child Rescue has recently provided High School presentations for individual classes and entire school assemblies at Granger, West Jordan, Cyprus, and Magna High School.
Ongoing support and recent presentations to the following Universities: Utah Valley University, Salt Lake Community College, Brigham Young University, and Argosy University.
Presented to Holladay, Tooele, Murray, West Jordan, Provo, and Sandy Rotary Club.
Community Awareness / Fundraisers:
An ongoing fundrasing effort called "Second Chance" has been initiated by Child Rescue volunteers to raise money for a child sexual abuse victim to attend a recovery center this year.
Zumba Marathon fundraiser was held with over 200 people in attendance.
Tipping Bucket Community Awareness and Fundraising Project reached 20,000+ people through social media, news media and outreach at several Universities including Brigham young University, Utah Valley University, University of Utah and Salt Lake Community College.
West Jordan High School hosted a Child Rescue Fundraiser/ Awareness campaign and were able to raise $20,000 to sponsor the 1st Annual Law Enforcement Training. The campaign involved and educated the entire student body, teachers and their friends and family. In appreciation Child Rescue presented a performance by John Allred for the student body.
Online National Police training Auction was held in order to help sponsor law enforcement from Canada to attend our National Police Training on June 1st.
Collaboration w/ other NGOs:
Child Rescue facilitated a collaborative meeting for all anti-trafficking organizations in Utah including representative from the US Attorney’s office to discuss the needs of victims in Utah and to facilitate cooperation and communication between agencies. Child Rescue continues to have communication with several child advocacy groups including: - The Arbinger Institute, Child Rescue of Asia Pacific, ATC, Operation 61, UHHR, Utah Human Trafficking Task Force, Apogee Consulting, Stop Child Trafficking Now, Free the Slaves, Not for Sale, Courtney’s House, Shared Hope, and the DNA Foundation
Child Rescue reached out to other NGO’s to create a master list of potential trainings throughout the U.S. for law enforcement and community members. Distributed this list amongst our own supporters and sent out to all other NGO’s for their use and distribution.
Finanical Support:
Child Rescue donated $10,000 more dollars to UHHR victim services at the end of last year for medical assitance, housing, legal fees, and social work care.
Financial support of Utah Health and Human Right Project:
Provided space heater to aide with heating in the home of former victims of human trafficking
Provided $5000 donation to UHHR for victim services
Presentation at National and Local Trafficking Conferences:
Child Rescue’s Executive Program Director, Jacque Baumer, was a guest speaker at BYU’s Assisting Victims of Human Trafficking through Research, Policy, and Practice conference.
Child Rescue’s Executive Director Lindsay Hadley and Executive Program Director Jacque Baumer were presenters for Utah Valley University’s Slavery in Utah Panel
